Nourish the Body

Dear Friends,

For the past 21 years, I’ve been exploring new ways to make “healthy” foods taste good. I have to admit that it was a little tough for me to savor the flavor of certain veggies (my first experience with rutabaga was, to say the least, not tasty…and collard greens gave me quite a run for my money!), but I am so pleased that I was persistent and allowed myself to adjust to the natural flavors that make simple, whole foods taste so good. I’ve had to learn to think about food in a different way so that I could appreciate its value to me as more than something to fill my empty stomach or satisfy my sweet tooth. Honestly, food is intended to nourish our bodies and fortify them for the work they must do each day. Grasping that concept was challenging for me, but I caught on that giving myself wholesome, natural, organic foods was a gift that I could enjoy on an ongoing basis. Building good health is a process that is time-consuming and, often, difficult, but my desire is to share some of my experiences with food with you so that your journey will be easier…and a lot more fun! My family and I are blessed with every meal; we appreciate the sweetness of a carrot, the tartness of a granny smith apple, and the spiciness of a red onion. It’s a little hard for me to believe that I truly prefer a well-made tofu/veggie stir fry to a bowl of macaroni and cheese, but it’s true. It took some time for my “taste” to change, but the benefits are well worth the wait!

When Joe and I began our partnership with Nature’s Sunshine, we realized that offering our customers high-quality herbs, supplements, essential oils and other products would bless all of you with increased stamina, good health, and vitality, but we wanted to give you more. We have made the commitment to helping our friends and customers understand that building health begins with eating right. I’d love to share some information about different fruits, vegetables, grains, beans, nuts, seeds, and condiments we use to keep our meals Healty & Delicious. If you would like more information about these foods that are readily available at your local market, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’d love to help you and your family reap the rewards of a whole foods diet!
